Liphart
Steel Company, Incorporated, has served as a major source for structural
steel and miscellaneous iron fabricator since its founding in 1938,
by Ruben P. Liphart. In 1968 the corporation entered into a new phase
of development when an employee group, spearheaded by F. E. Weisensale,
President from 1968 to 1988, purchased the company from T. Brady Saunders,
owner since 1948. Expanding on the concept of employee ownership,
in 1975 an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was established, whereby
allowing all of our employees to share in the ownership. By 1986,
just eleven years later, the ESOP had purchased 100% of the stock
from the former employee group. A remarkable accomplishment!
In addition
to the main fabricating facilities in Richmond, a branch operation
was established in 1975 in Verona, Virginia. This operation has a
full staff of sales and production personnel allowing us to better
serve the western part of the state. Both facilities stock a large
inventory and are equipped with the latest welding and metal fabricating
equipment.
As a
fabricator and erector of structural steel, miscellaneous iron and
aluminum, Liphart has successfully completed hundreds of specialized
and innovative projects throughout Virginia and surrounding Mid-Atlantic
States. These projects have been as varied as an ornate circular stairway,
a large industrial plant or a multi-story office building.
Since
we are an employee-owned company, Liphart proudly provides that extra
quality that shows a genuine pride in performance. Our company has
the reputation for superior craftsmanship, dependable service and
competent personnel, no matter how large, small, unusual or complex
the project.
We at
Liphart are proud to have been a part of the building of America throughout
most of this century and are looking forward to continuing this tradition
into the next millennium.
